Fendi was the very first design house to loan items to Sex and the City. Before that, the show had to buy from thrift stores in order to meet budgets (can you believe it?!) So because of Fendi’s initial loan of the Fendi Baguette bag to Carrie Bradshaw, her wardrobe and the show franchise evolved into the Sex and the City we all know and love today.

I have been wanting a pair of saw-bottom Camilla Skovgaard heels for quite some time. With athletic-inspired fashion being a popular trend this spring, I picture myself in these heels with sporty drop-crotch pants and a racerback tank.

My favorite collection right now is by Andreia Chaves. Her use of geometric shapes, textures and cutting edge designs make her shoes a pure work of art…on your feet. Maybe one day these made-to-order heels will be the luxury version of TOMS; with every pair you purchase, ANDREIA will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need…and that child is me!

May be old news, but I can’t get enough of Christian Dior AirFlash Spray Foundation. It leaves a nice “airbrushed” effect that evens out your skin tone and makes your face look flawless. I’m just glad they sell this spray paint can in the city!

LN: It’s so hard to nail down. I try to invest in classic pieces but I am never one to turn down a good trend. 

EDO: If you could go to one runway show anywhere in the world, what would it be?
LN: Chanel..Paris.. I mean this is every girls dream, right?

EDO: Must-read fashion book…
LN: I just finished By Invitation Only [by the founders of Gilt Groupe] and it’s definitely a must-read. I’m very much into the fashion tech start up world and found the book very inspiring. 

EDO: Trends you’re loving for spring…
LN: There are so many trends I am loving this season. Bold colors, print on print, and colored jeans are my top picks.

EDO: On the weekends, we can find you wearing…
LN: I have a really bad habit of wanting a new piece of clothing every time I go out, so most likely you will find me in a new top I purchased that week. My weekend uniform includes my Zara black and tan color block heels, some form of colored jeans, and a blouse. I also love a good statement piece of jewelry too. Luckily, I live with three of my best friends so 3x the closets helps me achieve a new outfit each weekend!

After interning for The Row last summer, we’re forever envious she’s seen the process of how those gorgeous clothes are made. Born and raised in New York, Tatyana’s closet staples include black tights, black jeans, and perfume. She dresses comfortably but always look perfectly put together…and we love her for it!

Favorite item from the eDrop-Off closet…
This Dries Van Noten tote is the ultimate summer bag. It’s large enough so I can bring everything I need with me, it has a trendy print that will look great with summer dresses, and the sides and handles are leather so it will survive summer’s adventures.

Runway collection she’s loving…
The Row Spring 2012 is one of my all time favorite collections, and not just because I have seen it from conception to runway last summer while interning for the company. Their smart reinvention of classic silhouettes and the use of macramé and button embroidery was a breath of fresh air and I am seriously considering wearing sheer silk pants with all my dresses.

Can’t wait to wear….
There is only a small window of time when a girl can wear crop tops and midriff baring dresses and still look classy. It is my goal this summer to incorporate this trend into as many outfits as possible (especially because I’m afraid it will expire at midnight on Labor Day). Luckily, I can look to Miu Miu, Prada, and Preen’s Spring ’12 collections for inspiration.

TV show she can’t get enough of…
Misfits. The premise of this hilarious British show is as ridiculous as it gets–a group of young offenders working in a community service program discover they have super powers after a strange electrical storm. This show is undeniably silly, but it also manages to be serious, dark, funny, and even dramatic at times, steering clear of clichés and cheap laughs. Quality writing and acting combined, Misfits provides a great 45 minute escape.

On her collection…
The character of Lady Brett Ashley from Hemmingway’s The Sun Also Rises inspired my collection. I wanted to create clothes this feminine, strong, and perhaps tragic woman would wear today. The print I developed was inspired by the love notes people leave at Juliet’s house in Verona, Italy, and the macramé overlay is meant to echo the lines of the print.

After attending SAIC‘s annual student fashion show last year, we were excited to see how their talent has flourished. This show is particularly important to the fashion community in Chicago because it offers a completely untainted, fresh and young perspective.
